The “Go Green” campaign aims to raise awareness about environmental conservation among Inner Wheel members and the general public. The focus is on promoting sustainable practices like recycling, reducing waste, using renewable energy sources, and conserving water. Educational workshops and community events are organized to inform and engage people. The campaign emphasizes the importance of individual actions contributing to a larger environmental impact. By adopting green practices in their daily lives, IW members and the public can significantly reduce their carbon footprint and help preserve the planet for future generations. The campaign also includes tree planting drives and clean-up activities to tangibly demonstrate environmental stewardship.
An awareness programme on “Go Green” for the public and for our members was conducted on the 14th of July 2023 at Shaanthi Schools ICSE Jothinagar under the leadership of Anuja Mahesh our Editor who was the ‘shining light” of the programme.
Rotary Secretary Mr.Satish Chandran educated the gathering about the necessity of creating ‘Go Green’. Our Members also shared their views on this topic. Particularly Geetha Hariraj and Vidhya Muthusamy explained the procedures that has to be adopted during the plantation. We were very happy that it was a program where more than 100 people were benefited.
