The Go Green Awareness Program in schools is an educational initiative designed to instil environmental consciousness among students. It includes interactive workshops, green club activities, and hands-on projects like recycling drives and school garden maintenance. The program emphasizes the importance of sustainable living, waste reduction, and energy conservation. Students learn about climate change, renewable energy sources, and the impact of human activities on the environment. By participating in real-world environmental projects, students not only gain a deeper understanding of ecological issues but also develop a sense of responsibility towards protecting and preserving the planet for future generations.
An awareness programme on “Create ‘Go Green” for the students of Shanthi Nikethan- Shaanthi Schools ICSE Jothinagar and Periakottai and Bharath Vidya Nikethan was conducted on 16 and 17th of July 2023 in all the three schools that are mentioned. Again our editor played a major role in the activity. Chief Invites were members of Rotary.
With the environmental concerns growing day by day, it becomes our duty to protect the world from any more damage. The future of the planet is in the hands of our children. The beliefs we instil in them and the habits they build will reflect on the world. Thus, it is necessary to teach them the habits that will protect the environment.
Keeping this in mind, Rotarian Mr. Mahesh Kumar Chairman of “Coir Plus” and the Directors Mr. Deepak and Mr. Lalith donated 1500 eco pots worth of Rs.15000 to the students of the three schools.
